Nancy G. Rubin
Nancy has been practicing family law exclusively for the past 24 years—the last 22 of which have been as a solo practitioner in her office in the Parkside District of San Francisco. She is thrilled that her daughter, Monica, has joined her in what she considers to be a dynamic and fulfilling area of the law.
Over the years, Nancy has had the honor of helping hundreds of families through difficult times. She has been gratified to see how her advice and guidance have improved the lives of her clients and their children and families.
Before attending Hastings College of the Law, Nancy graduated Magna Cum Laude from San Francisco State University, where she majored in Psychology and Women’s Studies. Originally from New York, Nancy came to “visit” San Francisco in 1975 and, after 24 hours here, decided to make San Francisco her home.
Nancy enjoys reading, films, hiking, traveling and exploring the Bay area with her two granddaughters.
In addition to her membership in the California State Bar, Nancy is also a member of the Family Law Section of the San Francisco Bar Association. She also taught Family Law for paralegals at City College of San Francisco, where she attended before transferring to San Francisco State University.
Monica J. Levavi
For the seven years prior to attending law school, Monica worked as a legal assistant in Nancy’s solo family law practice. During that time, Monica took a genuine interest in the families she interacted with, and she came to realize that her ability to assist them would be greatly enhanced if she became an attorney, as well.
Monica graduated from Golden Gate University School of Law in the top 15% of her class. She also received the prestigious National Order of Scribes Award for excellence in legal writing.
In addition to working on new and existing cases with Nancy, Monica has trained to be a Family Law Mediator. She is now accepting new cases of families that would prefer to mediate their issues, as opposed to litigating them.
When not in the office, Monica enjoys spending time with her husband and two daughters and her extended family and friends. She is working toward her black belt in karate.
